Trumpet Performance
Mat has been playing trumpet for over 20 years. He has a BM in Jazz Studies from the University of Washington and a MM in Orchestral Performance from the University of Idaho. He has performed professionally in many different settings and has toured with the Glenn Miller Orchestra. He has experience playing in both orchestral and jazz styles.
Mat has been teaching private trumpet lessons since he was in high school. While getting his Master's at the University of Idaho, he was a Teaching Assistant for the trumpet studio and also earned his teaching certificate for Idaho and Washington. He spent three years as the band director at Mt. Rainier High School and Parkside Elementary School. He now teaches private and group lessons in the Seattle-Tacoma area.

60min Weekly Lessons - $250/month

Composition
Composition
Mat has been composing and arranging music for jazz band for over 10 years. His works have been played by the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Ph Factor Big Band, and by high schools at various concerts and festivals. Some of his works are now available from Dapper Page Music.

Mat's Compositions has been featured on a new album by the pH Factor Big Band: "The Music of Mat Montgomery". The pH Factor is a Seattle based big band and can be heard regularly at Tula's.
